36 || It took her 36 years to start living in her body. Pascale Duroseau's journey from binge eating disorder and body hate to health and body love.
Nothing is more powerful than a testimony of triumph.
I am so grateful for today's episode featuring a childhood friend. The Pascale I knew in elementary school was fun loving, hilarious, and a ray of light. Over the years, our culture eclipsed so much of her beauty... telling her she wasn't enough. Living in a large, black body comes with many challenges in our thin, white body-obsessed culture. Pascale spent over 20 years struggling with binge eating disorder and feeling detached from her body because she believed something was wrong with it.
In today's episode we are getting a first hand glimpse at Pascale's journey, how she found herself at rock bottom, and then fought to overcome binge eating disorder. She made her way back to that beautiful, bright, elementary girl's spirit and learned to love herself again!
Be sure to connect with Pascale on IG @pascalegabrielle and let her know how amazing she is! I hope her story of triumph inspires yours.
Cheers and happy eating,
Jess
PS- As Pascale told me before this interview, her "favorite food is the f-word." ;) I am so grateful she was able to show up and be her authentic self on they show; however, this episode contains some explicit language and content so you may want to listen away from little ears. Enjoy!
